Montana Fly Fishing

aaron-bio-img213x321Well things have pretty much peaked out from the recent rain. Flows bumped from about 500 cfs to 1200 last week around Darby. And have leveled out over the last few days around a grand. What does this mean? Clarity is improving but the cold water is still moving pretty quick. Some fish in spawn mode some in lazy mode. They aint gonna be in the fast stuff. Chances to fish on top improves as the afternoon wears on. Always worth a shot anytime of the day. And instead of being jammed up on the upper river, the whole river improves daily. Cooler temps and overcast forecast will aid in this. Provided we don’t have any heavy rain. Remember to respect all size fish when releasing. The little peckers are the ones you’ll be taking pic’s of in a couple years.
